HIP POP SUPERSTAR - SCIENTIFIC
Liberian Hip pop superstar Sonny Tubman who goes by the stage name Scientific , is now back in Ghana. He was in Liberia last week for the most talked about beach Jam that ever took place in Liberia, hosted by Sound City. Although he was on the poster as one of the many Liberian artists selected to perform, Due to " A little misunderstanding " , many of his fans was left disappointed, however all hope is not lost. Scientific is set to collaborate with F Dot A ( a Liberian based singer) and he had a pleasant trip.
How well do you know Scientific ( Sonny Jamaal Tayshaun Tubman ).....
When Did you Start making music?
" I started making music in my teens " ( teenager)
Is making music something you always wanted to do?
" Since infancy I have been stuck with music and had the passion for it
"
What took you to Ghana ?
" During the war I moved over to Ivory Coast with my family because it was safer there and then later came to Ghana for school"
Do you plan on going to Liberia again?
" Oh yeah sure and I do visit a lot, doing shows and other activities "
There was some confusion surrounding your nomination for the LEA awards ( Liberian Entertainment Awards). How would you describe your sound and what music genre does your music come under?
" Well I made it clear to the LEA that the category I was place in was wrong and I'm a hip hopper not Hip Co. I felt they didn't do their research well to know more about artists and the work I have put in , so I question the entire committee or organizers involved because they were really poor but I urge them to do best next time "
If you was not a rapper, what would you be doing ?
" Well I went to university to study engineering , so that's what I would have done"
So far in your career, where do you enjoy performing the most, Ghana or Liberia ?
" Hmmmmm,it's a tough one because all the international artistes I open shows for or perform with was in Ghana example Jay z ,Akon,Fat Joe,Fabulous,etc they were all great feelings but in Liberia and how my people hail me and respond to my songs is exceptional so can't pick one "
Have you collaborated with any Ghanaian artist? And what Liberian artist do u want to work with?
" I have done collabos with so many Ghanaian artistes from Sarkodie,El,Jayso,Castro,Trigmatic ,Fritz and the list goes on and same with Liberian Artistes,Takun J ,QUINCY B ,Mr smith LIB money,lil Bishop,Deng,Sweetz, etc and I'm still workin with producers just to see the music industry elevate"
Is there another Liberian Artist you hope to work with ?
" Uhmmmm I think Jodi is nice and Joel too "
What do you think about the Liberian Entertainment Industry?
" The Liberian entertainment industry is growing gradually but it is lacking a whole lot and we all got to come together and play a role to help our industry reach its full potential "
How would you describe yourself ( character and personality) and what impact do you hope your music Will have on the Liberian entertainment industry ?
" I will say Scientific is a very humble artist and very down to earth person that speaks for the people through my music because they can definitely relate to it , so they feel it more and it's always an honor to hear them say I'm the best artist because I'm waving that Lib flag high "
" I'm a Icon and a role model to many youths,so I'm giving knowledge and speaking to them the truth about what is affecting our society so they can learn from that and take notes "

" During my spare time I do read a lot and equip myself with current events and I also have fun playing basketball and watching movies too "
