Zaye Tete was


a member of Liberia's National Cultural Troupe where she toured as a singer and dancer. Tete was living with her fellow National Cultural Troupe artists just outside the capital of Monrovia when she decided she had to escape the escalating violence. While in a refugee camp in the Ivory Coast, she started a Liberian children's cultural troupe. Tete also traveled from refugee camp to refugee camp, and even crossed back over the border into war-torn Liberia, to sing to soldiers to ask them to put down their weapons. Here in the U.S. she performs at Liberian celebrations and clubs, and continues to compose and record. Her most recent CD, entitled For the Sake of the Children, came out in 2011. She was awarded a Leeway Foundation Art and Change grant in 2009 to teach traditional songs and dances to Liberian American youth. In January, 2013, she returned from a three-week performance tour of Australia

Here we are weeks after the most talked about events held in Monrovia, the Wiz Kid and Timaya show, sponsored by Sound City and Novaphone . Many opinions and views have been floating around the worldwide web, by supporters and non-supporters .  Whilst some may see these events to be an accomplishment for Liberians and a Gateway to numerous opportunities etc. At LSV , we believe these event are a wake up call, that WE as citizens have to take charge of our progressing entertainment industry . Rumors Swell Of A Deng-CIC Collaboration

Fans of Deng and C-I-C are once more nervously anxious as rumors swell of another round of will-they-or won't-they: LSV has confirmed that the managements of African Entertainment & SOG met at an undisclosed venue to begin talks of a collaboration. "I'm one hundred percent certain that this time it's a done deal; the public should expect a brand new single from both artists in a matter of weeks. It's a done deal." a source close to Deng told LSV. Rumors of a Deng-CIC collaboration have been filtering in the air since at least before CIC accident when Deng management initially abandoned talks to attend a concert in Europe.
