Marilyn Monroe clothing line hits Macy’s

A Marilyn Monroe-inspired collection of flirty dresses and polka-dot tops launched in Macy's department stores. The retro pieces range from $29 and $89 and will also be available online. Items in Macy’s newest collection were inspired by actress Marilyn Monroe.

“Marilyn Monroe’s appeal is legendary and Macy’s is excited to launch a collection that draws inspiration from her timeless style,” Macy’s chief marketing officer Martine Reardon said in a statement. It’s Marilyn-mania at Macy’s. A clothing line inspired by the buxom 1950s icon launched at 150 of the department stores last week.

The playful collection features retro halter dresses cinched at the waist, creating the hourglass silhouette the bombshell actress was famous for, and T-shirts printed with Monroe’s face.

Gingham and polka-dots make the casual collection perfect for spring.
“This new line takes [Marilyn’s] unique sensibility, noteworthy silhouettes and colors of the time, and reinvents them for a modern-day Marilyn Monroe that is fun-loving, flirty and not afraid to play with fashion,” Reardon said.
Pieces range from $29 to $89, and will be available online in mid-March.

Rumors Swell Of A Deng-CIC Collaboration

Fans of Deng and C-I-C are once more nervously anxious as rumors swell of another round of will-they-or won't-they: LSV has confirmed that the managements of African Entertainment & SOG met at an undisclosed venue to begin talks of a collaboration. "I'm one hundred percent certain that this time it's a done deal; the public should expect a brand new single from both artists in a matter of weeks. It's a done deal." a source close to Deng told LSV. Rumors of a Deng-CIC collaboration have been filtering in the air since at least before CIC accident when Deng management initially abandoned talks to attend a concert in Europe.
