Rickslyn Myers Challenges Comedians to Raise Standards Amid Cross-Dressing Backlash

Image
Liberian social influencer Rickslyn Myers is once again shaking the table—and this time, her target is comedians like “Pejim55”, who recently posted a video fully dressed and made up as a woman for comedic effect. Myers didn’t hold back. She shared the clip and called out the growing trend of male comedians relying on wigs, dresses, makeup, and exaggerated femininity just to get laughs. For those who don’t know, Ms. Myers is one of Liberia’s most outspoken and influential social voices. She has starred in movies, collaborated musically with artists like “Bucky Raw”, and built one of the strongest social media followings in the Liberian entertainment space. When she speaks, people pay attention—whether they agree with her or not. Her argument is simple: If you’re truly funny, ...

Liberia and Infidelity : A Norm ?

The affect of infidelity is, shocking, destructive and detestable. Although,  it is not a word we often use within our culture - the noun is not foreign to us. Westerners would describe it as , an act of being unfaithful to a sexual partner or a spouse . You may have experienced this first hand or got wind of it ; through a friend, neighbour or a family member. In This day and Age, a Woman or a Man stepping out of their matrimonial home is no longer a foul thought. As we  continue to embrace western cultural practices, we are unconsciously livin...
